Walking the Threefold Way of Discipline, Wisdom, and Community
The Absolute Yin introduces a unique and holistic path to self-development through The Septagram Model, also known as The Path of Septagram. It is a living philosophy rooted in ancient laws, ethical clarity, and personal transformation. Designed to cultivate the Warrior's strength and the Noble-Spirited's wisdom within each individual, this path unfolds through three interwoven pillars, each essential for optimal results.
I. The Absolute Yin – The Source of Discipline, Structure and Training
At the apex of the model stands The Absolute Yin, the official name of the school, the system, and the sanctuary of study. This is where theory and practice merge - where principles are not only taught but embodied. The Absolute Yin provides a rigorous training ground for those who seek harmony between the physical and metaphysical. Here, practitioners are introduced to the way of the Warrior and the Noble-Spirited, rooted in traditional Budo yet extending far beyond it. It is a space where discipline sharpens the soul, and ethics are not open to negotiation. The Martial Way is not diluted for the sake of modern permissiveness; it remains demanding, clarifying, and transformative.
The practical development and initiation within The Absolute Yin is structured around the Seven Gates. These gates serve as a progressive framework for the practitioner, each representing a specific stage of physical, mental, and spiritual growth. Each gate involves rigorous training, specific challenges, and the acquisition of knowledge and skills essential for advancement along The Path of Septagram. Successfully navigating each gate signifies a deepening understanding of the principles of The Absolute Yin and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
Kyūkazan (休火山) - Kyūkazan, the "Dormant Volcano", represents the initial stage where latent potential lies dormant, like a seed waiting to sprout. Grounded in the element of Earth, this gate emphasizes survival and self-preservation, tapping into primal instincts of fear and anxiety. It cultivates "static aggression", teaching the Warrior to become an unyielding fortress, rooted and impenetrable, drawing strength from the power of tribal belonging.
Funka (噴火) - Funka, the "Volcanic Eruption", transitions from static potential to dynamic action, embodying the unrestrained nature of Fire. This gate emphasizes empowerment and acceleration, teaching dynamic defense through aggressive, swift, interceptive movements that overwhelm the opponent before they can react. Fueled by raw emotions like rage and passion, Funka is about releasing the pent-up energy of Kyukazan with explosive force, forming powerful connections within the duality of interpersonal relationships.
Yōganryu (溶岩流) - Yōganryu, the "Lava Flow" marks a transition as the fiery energy of Funka is channeled and contained, akin to lava cooling and solidifying. Here, the element of Water introduces restraint and control, tempering the unbridled passion of the previous gate, mirroring the calculated patience of a spider awaiting its prey. This gate cultivates manipulation and mastery, emphasizing techniques that bind and control, fostering independence and self-reliance.
Kokuen (黒煙) - Kokuen, "Black Smoke" arises from the residue of the previous transformations, a subtle essence lingering in the air, representing the element of Air and the final product of the alchemical transmutation of all three Earthly elements. This gate emphasizes focus and precision, striving for flawless movement driven by a desire for recognition and glory. In this stage, the practitioner refines and purifies both body and spirit, taking ownership and responsibility for nurturing others, stepping into roles of mentorship and guidance.
Taiyō (太陽) - Taiyō, the "Supreme Yang" or "Sun", represents the element of Light, radiating compassion and grace. This gate emphasizes continuous refinement (Renma) and selfless action ("Muga Mushin"), a state of heightened awareness where reactions become instinctive and thoughtless. Motivated by love and empathy, the practitioner embodies expansion, sharing knowledge and wisdom by teaching groups and communities, amplifying their connection to the world.
Hangetsu (半月) - Hangetsu, "Half-Moon", complements Taiyo within the cosmic sphere, representing the darkness and void that cradles all elements, including light. This gate cultivates penetrating vision and unwavering intent, emphasizing decisive action devoid of mercy, mirroring the focused strike of a snake. Driven by intuition and meditative awareness, the practitioner seeks awakening and self-transcendence, relying not on the ego, but on their higher self.
Seimei no Ki (生命の木) - Seimei no Ki, "The Tree of Life", mirrors the Law of One, representing the ultimate sphere that governs and empowers all others. Grounded in the element of Spirit or Aether, this gate embodies nobility of spirit, the Warrior's final aspiration, cultivated through profound awareness (Zen). Motivated by connection to a higher power and the superconscious, the practitioner achieves awakening, allowing the Kundalini energy to rise and connect with the Crown chakra, signifying a fusion with the divine.
II. Tales from the Mountain: A Guide for the Warrior and the Noble-Spirited
The second pillar of The Septagram Model is "Tales from the Mountain", the written guide that distills the essential teachings, philosophical foundations, and moral axioms of The Absolute Yin. This foundational text is both a scripture and a mirror - revealing to each reader not only the method but their place within it.
The book explores themes such as:
The proper balance between power and justice.
The path to nobility of spirit and conduct.
The universal sins of the Warrior, and the lies he must resist.
The laws of consciousness, free choice, and determinism.
The idea of an absolute truth and the unyielding nature of moral law.
The Alchemy of the Mind: transforming guilt into energy, weakness into strength, and failure into the opportunity to grow.
The Principle of Non-Acceptance: the sacred duty to oppose injustice when it emerges.
In addition, the text unveils occulted principles long hidden from common discourse, such as: the Law of Three, the Law of Seven, the Law of Octaves, the Hermetic teachings of Hermes Trismegistus, and the tools needed to distinguish false from true (aka., The Wisdom Acquired through Open Eyes, and the Wisdom Acquired through Closed Eyes), and Right from Wrong.
III. The Budo Community – The Realization of a Shared Purpose
Learning the Septagram Model requires community and collaboration. The third pillar, the Budo Community, is an open community that supports practitioners who share the same ideology, align with the principles of this path, and bring them to life through shared practice, dialogue, and action. It allows members to manage healthy interactions with others, ask questions, find sparring partners, organize and participate in community events, and spread knowledge. This community is more than a social circle – it is a moral fellowship. A haven for seekers, warriors, sages, and students who choose to walk against the stream of mediocrity, nihilism, and relativism.
Members typically engage in:
Joint martial arts training.
Open study groups and discussion circles.
Philosophical debates.
Public service, charity, and organized events.
Mutual learning and mentorship.
Sharing of esoteric traditions with respect and care.
The Budo Community is open to all who bring sincerity and respect, regardless of background. There are no fees, no contracts - only the will to learn, serve, and grow.
IV. Walking the Path of Septagram
The model’s structure is deliberate. Each of the three pillars plays a vital role in the Warrior's path toward spiritual clarity:
The Absolute Yin grants:
A clear identity to the practitioner, rooted in the fusion of the Warrior and the Noble-Spirited.
A formal seven-stage structure where ancient principles are studied and integrated through action.
A direct connection to a lineage of wisdom that does not compromise with moral relativism.
A training environment where martial arts become a vehicle for internal alchemy.
Tales from the Mountain offers knowledge and teaches to:
Wield power with justice and act from nobility – not ego.
Resist falsehood, temptation, and the universal sins of the Warrior.
Understand the hidden laws of nature and the sacred principles of Natural Law.
Purify oneself through inner alchemy by converting vice into virtue and clearing Karmic residue.
Acquire both outward clarity and inward knowing.
The Budo Community is is the social engine of the Septagram, providing:
A place to train together, ask difficult questions, and share discoveries.
A platform to organize events, voluntary actions, and educational gatherings.
A cultural ecosystem where honor, commitment, and shared ideals are lived daily.
