Grading & Ranking

The Absolute Yin system recognizes three distinct training paths, each with its own structure for grading, advancement, and mastery.

Kyokushin Karate Path

This path follows the traditional Kyokushin syllabus as recognized by the BKK and IFK. Students advance through formal belt rankings based on standardized Kihon (fundamentals), Kata (forms), Kumite (sparring), and fighting spirit. Grading is conducted through official examinations and reflects progression in technical skill, discipline, and physical conditioning.

The Path of the Septagram

Rooted in the philosophical and symbolic Septagram Model, this path unfolds through Seven Gates (initiations) - each representing a core principle, archetype, and level of transformation. Advancement is not based on belts, but on demonstrated integration of knowledge, discipline, and virtue. Each gate signifies a stage in the inner journey of the Warrior.

The Heptagon (Inner Circle)

Within the Septagram Path lies a higher initiation track: The Heptagon. This is an elite circle composed of one master (who embodies the Element of Spirit/Aether) and six apprentices, each aligned with a specific element - Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Light, or Void. Each student commits to deep specialization in one discipline over a period of 3 to 7 years. Completion of this path grants the right to form a Septagram Council - an autonomous body capable of guiding others and managing a dojo.
